Other Resources

These are websites, links and other resources that support Age-Full Living and that I found to be helpful, inspirational, or insightful. I hope you find something on this list of value to you, too. Check back regularly for new additions.

Living the Seasons, Embracing Change

Celebrate Aging Parents - this website provides valuable information for anyone with aging parents; be sure to sign up for Gail's blog when you visit the site

Center for Third Age Leadership - make sure you sign up for Father William's monthly newsletter (a favorite of mine)

First 30 Days - this website is all about embracing life changes; choose from their long list of life changes and sign up to receive 30 days of encouraging and supportive e-mail messages

"Gratefully Embracing All That Is" - lots of interesting content on this site - be sure and check out the Practices section

"My Stroke of Insight"- listen to Jill Bolte Taylor's inspiring TED talk; when Jill had her stroke, she was a 37-year-old Harvard trained brain scientist so she brings a very unique perspective to this experience (Jill also authored a book with this same title that is available on Amazon.com)

Second Wind Dreams - national non-profit organization that has the goal of fulfilling the dreams of nursing home and assisted living residents

Young at Heart - If you missed the release of the "Young at Heart" movie (released in the spring of 2008), learn more about this amazing chorus made up of folks in their 70s, 80s and 90s and make sure you see the film when it's released on DVD
(P.S. to see several of their performances, go to YouTube.com and do a search on "Young at Heart")

You Only Die Once - one of the best and most user-friendly resources for end of life planning - I frequently quote from Margie Jenkins' book when I give my seminars on Age-Full Living

Mind and Brain Training Resources

I'm a BIG proponent of exercising the mind and keeping the brain fit and active. These are several resources to get you started on your own brain fitness program. Some require that you purchase the software and some are on-line brain training programs.
